Can I just say how delighted I was to read all of your lovely comments on the kaleidoscope blanket ta-dah. It really did make my day and I have enjoyed sharing this crochet journey with you all. Now a little vintage crochet talk...
On a visit to a charity shop last week, I came across a crafting magazine from 1972 called "Golden Hands". Inside was a double page spread on potholders and I was particularly drawn to the "scallop edged potholder". It is very similar to a pattern
Lucy at Attic 24 used for a cushion not long ago, but her method is different to this one.
This method involves making a foundation chain for the petals and the stitches consist of double crochet, treble and double treble. It was very quick and easy to make... I would like to make some more in bright colours and hang them on the wall.

This retro fabric had my heart racing the other day when I spotted two immaculate bedsheets
and two pillow cases in the charity shop... I just love the design and the colours are right up my
street! So fabulous, I cannot decide what to make with the fabric yet... maybe curtains for Spring? |
This pattern is almost forty years old and still fabulous...it could easily be made bigger for a cushion or even miss the last round out and make christmas baubles...
Hope you enjoyed this little crochet snippet... enjoy your week x
