Sew pretty...

Inspired by Jacquie at Bunny Mummy and my new favourite book "A passion for quilting" by Nicki Trench, I decided to use the cross stitch pansies I picked up in the charity shop the other week....

I love the result and I actually enjoyed making this cushion cover...if this isn't a good advert for charity shopping I don't know what is; everything used to make this cushion cover came from charity shops. No husband! You cannot use this cushion... just marvel at its prettiness from afar.

  8. I am a cross stitcher and I am sorry to see cross stitched pieces end up in charity shops. That means someone inherited it but did not appreciate it. Thank you for saving it and giving it a new life!AriadnefromGreece!

    1. I fully expect my crochet to end up in a charity shop as no-one around me particularly likes crochet and i'm happy with that. Let it go out into the world and be loved by a like-minded soul, is my opinion. It is sad alot of hand-craft is not kept in the family, but everyone has different taste. Thank you for your comment Ariadne x

  13. Very lovely! I am so glad that you made it with all charity shop finds. I am a big supporter of them myself and love the thrill of the search. Never know what treasures will be unearthed. (and yes... preserving things from the hubby is the tricky part! haha)

  15. That is a beautiful cushion. I haven't done cross stitch for years, this makes my fingers a bit itchy to get on and dig out some unfinished work that is lurking in bags and boxes under the bed. Dev x
