Things that make me happy today...

A new picture entered our home last week and  makes me happy every time I pass by....

I found this tapestry at a local junk shop and it made my heart skip a beat... It has been worked in embroidery thread and is so fine that I had to touch it when I saw it to work out if it was needlework or a print. I adore the pastel shades.

The above tea towel dates from the 1960s and is just fabulous! Very fitting to find a pink giraffe covered in love hearts just before Valentines.... This tea towel has never been used and would look great framed.

I bought this Saddler jug a few weeks ago with the vision of filling it with bright yellow daffodils and the sight brings me joy every day...

Crochet trim on a handtowel.... I do love using a hand towel with crochet trim and it brings much needed colour into our bathroom...

February page from my Mary Engelbreit calendar... wise words....

Love the giraffe tea towel! I have 2 vintage Vera napkins with flowers on them that were never used and I framed them. They look beautiful.

Nice work on the crocheted towels. How do you poke the holes into them for the yarn?

Oh these really are a happy bunch of images! I adore Saddler pottery in teal, I am constantly on the look out for a set of teacups and saucers, I often see the olive, and I have been tempted, but in the end I decide to wait for the teal as that is what I really want ... such a fab teatowel too and I love the idea of trimming hand towels - I have added that to my crochet to-do-list!

Hi Kim, I don't understand the question about poking holes for the yarn. I made a crochet band and then stitched it to the towel, hope that helps.

The towel is brilliant, and, ohhh, i would love to have one crosstitch ballerina for my oldest daughter. She is a professional ballet dancer...

I'm very new to your blog. Yesterday in fact, so I don't know if you have or will have kids but that giraffe tea towel would be wonderful in a kids room. I can't wait to go back and read your blog and learn more about you. Oh and I love the hand towel, so cheery. Cheers, Naomi
