Goodbye...

Hello... and goodbye... I have decided not to create any further posts on MemeRose. I have really enjoyed being a blogger and sharing my home and crafting with you over the last two and a half years, but I am going to direct my energy into my creative endeavours for the foreseeable future.

Thank you to all those who have made my foray into the world of blogging so enjoyable xxx

Sorry everyone! I was informed that people couldn't leave comments... somehow I had accidently checked a box for team members only. It's all sorted now.

I must add that I will of course still be visiting the blogs I follow and will of course pop and say hello Sue xxx

I wondered why I couldn't leave a comment!!!Anyhoo, so sad that you're leaving but I understand your reasoning too. Will you still be on 'Ravelry', otherwise I'll have nowhere to go to get my inspiration from!! It's been really lovely 'knowing' you, Andrea and I wish you all the luck for your crafty pursuits. Let us know how you're coming along, won't you.
So this is not 'Goodbye', only 'Au Revoir'.xxx

hello... yes I will leave the blog up so the patterns can be used. Thank you everyone for your kind words.

Nana G I don't have Ravelry anymore, but I will still be your visitor xxx

You will be greatly missed. You are a great inspiration for those of us who can't create their own patterns, but love to follow others' patterns. I am sending good thoughts and good wishes your way. I hope everything goes well for you during your "break" time and that you will eventually be able to return to your blog once more. Good Luck with everything!! Hugs!

Well, I do understand your decision and, as an infrequently posting blogger, hope that eventually you might return every now and then.

Meanwhile, best wishes to you on all the projects and interests that you are about to enjoy.

I do look forward to having you stop by my place from time to time.

I'm really going to miss you. I always find inspiration on your blog, and love your colour choices. Thank you.

Tis a sad day indeed! You were one of my first "follows" when I discovered blog land. You have inspired me over and over with your creations and colors! I am planning to make Alice just as soon as I finish a few other unfinished things. I think blogging requires a lot of time - and we begin to feel guilty when we don't give it the time we think we need to. Too bad we have to give ourselves guilt about it...it begins to consume us! And then we run for the hills! Hope you'll miss sharing your creativity someday...and maybe return for a semi-annual appearance? Waaaaah! I'm going to go cry now! Hugs and pouts, Annette

I'm going to miss your blog! I didn't comment much, mainly because I had nothing to say, but I enjoyed seeing how you have made such a beautiful place in this world. It has been very inspiring for me!

Meme Rose said...

Thank you ladies for your lovely words... I feel a little sad after reading the comments and also touched that you have found this blog enjoyable and/or inspiring in some way. I'm still getting used to not being a blogger anymore... I painted the hallway and stairs yesterday and went to photo it and realised I have no need to! xxx

As soon as I read your post yesterday I typed a message to you, and found I couldn't publish it. Of course I now know why! I'm very sad but completely understand why you need to make that change. Make decisions based on what you want, and what your heart desires. Should those needs and wants change and you decide to return, we'll all be here. Thanks for being around and offering support, I'll miss your contribution greatly xx

It's a shame that his talent is no longer here to see more network ... I am sad when I see bloggers like you, with so much ability and make things so well made, it disappears ... still respect his decision. The most important thing is to be happy, right?? I wish you all the happiness in the world! a big hug and millions of kisses from Catalonia!
And thanks.... thanks.... thanks again....

I am so sorry you are departing blogland - you've had a beautifully independent and inspiring angle on things that I've loved. But I know so much where you are coming from and there are just only so many hours in the day. Wishing you all the creative inspiration you' ve so generously given to others here and hoping you will come back perhaps some time. Thank you for all you've shared. E x

So sorry to hear of your leaving blogland. I don't crochet much but I often dream of it and your blog is place I like to come and visit and dream :D I understand that sometimes people need to break from blogging, but don't stop journaling about your crafting for yourself. Sending you big hugs to you!

A BIG thank you for all who have taken the time to leave a comment. It has been lovely to read your messages.

I have tentatively set up a facebook page and will post the details should I decide to use it. I'm generally not a facebook fan and want to make sure it is something I will want to be bothered with first.

Thank you again for helping to make my blogging journey fun and rewarding xxx

Thank you for sharing your makes and inspiration, you'll be missed, I've missed Alice and Vanessa and others who no longer blog but know things/circumstances change. I don't do Facebook but love Instagram, sort of Micro blogging and have found many other bloggers on there too. Less time consuming!

I just picked up a crochet hook this summer, having lost all ability to do my favorite things due to chronic illness, and gave hexagons a try after seeing your blog. Your pattern was used in several hexagons that ended up being my first shawl. I followed your links and found so many colorful crochet blogs filled with flowers, coasters, and granny squares. I turned them into hexagons and added them to what has been called a 'hexagon sampler shawl'. My life is enrich now with crochet and color! You were literally my inspiration. Thank you. I will miss your blog more than words can say. Good luck to you!

I do hope that you have managed to carve out some creative time just for yourself and that all is well. Blogging is a funny old game. I completely lost my way with it and felt it had become something completely for others and not actually anything for me.

Stepping away completely from everything for a couple of months, just channeling what I alone wanted to do, was the best thing I could have done. It made me stop and think about what my blog had started out as, and what it had become. I decided that I could get it back to how I wanted it to be, but in order to do that I would rather selfishly have to be a bit strict in one sense and very laid back in another.

I've taken the pressure off myself. I have decided to blog for myself and to just please only myself. If people want to read me, then that's ok, if they don't then that's ok too. I've just had to learn to let go of the baggage that seemed to have attached itself to my little place.

And I feel more invigorated about my tiny little space. So I think maybe i'll post more regularly now. It certainly does one good to just remove ourselves from the rat race and concentrate on ourselves for a bit.

I hope that you are having some creative fun!

Take care

Vanessa xxx
